L. Fish Furniture & Mattress was established in 1858 by David Fish and is one of the oldest Furniture Companies in the United States. Shortly before the Civil War, David Fish opened his first furniture store in Chicago. Honoring his wife Lotta, he used her first initial in naming the new company. L. Fish Furniture was doing business when Abraham Lincoln was Senator of Illinois; the light bulb was not invented yet!
Over 150 years later five generations have carried on Mr. Fish’s tradition of offering the best quality furniture at the guaranteed lowest price.
Today Mr. Fish’s great, great grandson operates a 170,000 square foot Furniture and Mattress store in Indianapolis.
